Duhaney Home Health Care, Inc. has served Los Angeles County since 1994, providing at home healthcare services to the diverse cultural and ethnic populations of Los Angeles. It also earned Medicare certification in 1994. Duhaney received a three-year accreditation status from the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations in April 1998, and since then every 3 years.
Intermittent skilled nursing, home health aides, occupational, physical, speech therapies, social work and nutrition services are provided to Duhaney’s patients through Medicare, MediCal, Workers Compensation, private insurance and private payment sources. Duhaney’s payer profile for 1999 has been 90% Medicare, 5% MediCal, 5% Workers Compensation, private insurance and private payment.
Presently, Duhaney’s referral sources are physicians in private practice, Case Managers at local acute hospitals, Licensed Social Workers, neighboring Skilled Nursing Facilities, HMOs and Private Insurance Companies.
Initial evaluations and assessments to begin services and case management are the responsibility of Registered Nurses. The supervision of Certified Home Health Aides is within the role of Registered Nurses. “Therapy only” cases are routinely managed by a therapist, but first assessed by a Registered Nurse. The agency utilizes a case management system to provide comprehensive, coordinated care and services to patients served.
